What is an asbestos re-inspection?
A re-inspection revisits the materials recorded in an existing asbestos register or previous survey, checks their current condition and updates the records accordingly. It supports ongoing management rather than identifying materials for the first time.
A re-inspection relies on existing asbestos information. If no register exists, a Management Survey is normally the starting point.
Working from your existing asbestos register
Your current register or previous survey is used as the basis for the visit, so each recorded material can be located and reviewed. Existing documents can be uploaded with your enquiry.
Condition monitoring
- Review of each previously identified material
- Assessment of current condition and any deterioration
- Identification of damage, disturbance or removal since the last visit
- Notes where access was not possible
Updating photographic records
Photographic records are refreshed so the register reflects the property as it is now, which is particularly useful across multi-site portfolios where different people manage each building.
Reviewing management actions
Previously recommended actions are reviewed so you can see what has been completed and what remains outstanding, supporting a clear picture of the property’s current position.
Maintaining current information
Keeping asbestos information current means maintenance staff and contractors are working from accurate records before any work is carried out at the property.
Periodic compliance management
Re-inspections are normally carried out at intervals suited to the property, the materials present and their condition. OJ can discuss a schedule for a single site or a portfolio.
